FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL’S OFFICE

Dear FA Community Member,

It has been a wet, soggy week so far. The weather has provided some tests of our resolve in coming to school on rainy days when classes are being cancelled all around us. Thank you for trusting us and praying for us as we make those tricky calls early in the morning hours. If you would prefer to pray by name it is Ricky Clarin, Head of Transportation, Deputy Head of School, Mr. Peter Winslade, and myself (Tom Hardeman) as Head of School. The three of us working together make that final call and would greatly appreciate your prayers for wisdom, clarity, and insight.

This week is High School Retreat. All 226 High Schoolers, along with a batch of the High School staff will be heading out to Rizal Re-Creation. Pray for this time together. Pray for God to use the speaker to reach the hearts of all those in attendance. Pray for the students to have a great time and to experience unity and bonding through this retreat. I will be participating as I have every year since 2006 when I first came. Looking forward to it!

Cross country, soccer, and volleyball all have teams competing this sports season. Pray for the teams to bring glory to God on and off the pitch, course, and court, that we might be a testimony to the schools and teams we play against.

Serving together,

Tom Hardeman

Head of School

PAC CORNER

You Asked, We Checked:

The New People’s Army (NPA) has become active again in the kidnapping. Laguna is a known hot spot.  Is it safe for the HS department to hold the retreat in the RRC Camp?

The US Embassy gives our school regular updates regarding security risks in the country.  Last year they advised us to look for an alternative venue for the Senior Trip because of security risks in the south.  We heeded their advice and the Seniors went to Baler, Aurora instead.

As of today, there is no known security threat in Laguna that we have received from the US Embassy.  The latest security warning only deals with southern Palawan and Mindanao.  The students’ security is our number one priority and we will not send them to RRC if we are not confident that it will be a safe and enjoyable place for them to hold their retreat.

Security Manager

“Life can make me weary and stressed at times,

I want to stop right now though, Lord, and take the time,

To quiet my soul before You,

Speak to me from Your Word, Please refresh me”

I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother;  Like a weaned child is my soul within me

Psalm 131:2
