FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL’S OFFICE

Dear Faith Academy Community Member,

Forty-eight years ago this week Faith Academy sustained a direct hit from Typhoon Yoling. The damage sustained by this storm was so catastrophic to the campus that many thought this might be the end of Faith Academy. Miraculously the only building on campus that did not sustain significant damage was the Boarding home housing 90+ boarding students. Some said it seemed like God put His hand over this building to protect the lives of the kids living there.

God moved in the hearts of churches and individuals in response to this devastation.  They gave so generously to the point where the damaged buildings were repaired and we were even able to add several new structures as seen in the photo. Classes resumed just a couple months later.

I’d like to make this an annual week of remembrance of God’s faithful provision. A community Ebenezer (stone of remembrance) as it were. This seems appropriate at this time of thanksgiving. Thank you, Lord, for your continued sustaining hand over the years!

Another milestone in our quest to gain the EIIC (Educational Institute of International Character) status was gained yesterday in Congress. The Committee on Basic Education passed our bill forward to continue to be reviewed by Congress. There are still two more readings that must take place prior to the final vote by Congress. Thank you for continuing to pray for this process.

Come on out and see the light-hearted musical, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Performances are tonight, Friday and Saturday. Get your tickets as soon as possible as space is limited in Tipunan Hall. This production should be fun for the entire family.

Serving with you,

Tom Hardeman

Head of School
