FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL’S OFFICE

Dear Faith Academy Community Member,

Happy Chinese New Year!

There are no unusual events taking place this week at school, but several things to take notice of in the coming weeks.

Next week we will host the annual ACSC (Asia Christian School Conference) girls basketball tournament with schools coming from Dalat School in Malaysia, Morrison in Taiwan, St. Paul in Guam, Grace in Thailand, IC Bangkok from Thailand, and Yongsan Int. School from Korea. It promises to be a fun tournament with some exciting games. Come on out and support our lady Vanguards and cheer on all of the teams. Let’s be gracious hosts for this event!

The boys varsity basketball team will be going to Korea to participate in the ACSC tournament being hosted by Yongsan International School. Pray for safety for the team in travel as well as for them to be good ambassadors on and off the court.

Next week is also the outrageously fun and adventurous Outdoor Education week for our Middle School. Over 200 students and adults will be invading “the Rock” (Corregidor) this year. Joining our students will be students from Faith International Academy Davao as well as a large home school squad of students. Please pray for all of the travel during the week, for the ministry and outreach that will happen and for the Lord to use the special speakers to challenge the hearts and lives of the students.

Coming up on Tuesday, February 26, two special events will take place on our campus. In the morning, from 8:00 – 12:00 there will be a seminar called “The World Needs a Father” presented. All dads of Faith Academy students are invited to attend this event. From 2:00 to 4:30 on this same day we will have an International Community Picnic/Potluck Extravaganza.  Please look for more information to follow regarding these events.

Serving with you,

Tom Hardeman

Head of School

2019 VEHICLE STICKERS

The 2019 Vehicle Stickers are now available for purchase in the Business Office. The Valley Golf and Country Club has increased the price to 1200 pesos for each vehicle. Please bring a copy of your OR (Official Receipt) for each vehicle. If you have not previously purchased a sticker for your vehicle we will also need to have a copy of your CR (Certificate of registration). For those who have recently purchased a vehicle please bring the deed of sale and copy of the OR.

Faith Academy Security will be reminding drivers of the need to purchase the 2019 sticker. As of February 11, 2019, the Faith Academy security guards will begin the process of pulling drivers without stickers aside to remind drivers to get the sticker.

For those of you who are not aware, Faith Academy purchases a special blue colored sticker from Valley Golf and Country Club as required for passing through the Valley Golf area. While the Golf Club sells other stickers, the blue one, is unique to Faith Academy and is used for entrance onto the Faith campus.

PRIVATE DRIVERS ID AND PARKING

Faith Academy is now requiring all private drivers to have an official Faith Academy ID and lanyard. Please visit the Business Office to arrange for the private driver ID. The cost is 250 pesos.

For those interested in having private drivers park on campus, please visit the Business Office.

PAC AT FAITH

  • THE WORLD NEEDS A FATHER

Movies, television and culture-at-large often demean and belittle the role of fatherhood.  Dads are portrayed as inept and aloof men who’s best contribution to the family is the paycheck they bring home and a willingness to resign to “whatever Mom says.”  However, studies consistently confirm what the Bible reveals, THE WORLD NEEDS A FATHER.

Founded on common sense, decades of global studies and biblical principals for healthy families, THE WORLD NEEDS A FATHER is a global movement of dads committed to building unbreakable families and a healthy community. TWNAF helps fathers bring heaven home.

This life-changing, father-affirming seminar is coming to Faith Academy on Tuesday morning, February 26th, 8am-12noon.   The event is FREE and will be held in rooms Cadd 119-120.

THE WORLD NEEDS A FATHER is presented by BRIDGE for dads of Faith Academy students, in conjunction with the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). Refreshments will be provided.

Please RSVP to [email protected]edu.ph with “rsvp THWNAF” in the subject line

  • ALL SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL POTLUCK PICNIC

Save the date and join us for the “All School International Potluck, Picnic” on Tuesday, February 26th at the Elementary Soccer Field from 2-4:30 pm.

The PAC committee received such positive feedback from last semester’s All School Picnic that we decided to merge the annual International Potluck (where you bring a dish from your culture) with the picnic style.

Since we are such a diverse community, whenever we gather, for any occasion, it is an international day of fun!  Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, games, and food to share (enough for 8 – 10 people).  We will also have a time of worship!

FROM THE HSD OFFICE

High School Books Available

Over the past decades, we have collected hundreds and hundreds of books that we no longer use in classes. Being fans of books, we would like to see those books find new homes where they will be used and appreciated. We have collected all the books in P19 and anyone in our community is welcome to come look through the available books to see if there is anything you would like.

Books may be taken for church, school, or ministry use – or just to add to your personal library. Currently, there are lots of:

  • math and science textbook sets
  • class sets of Bible / Christian living books
  • individual Bible/theology/ Christian living

If you are interested in seeing what is available, you may stop by the high school office to get access to the room. Please take as many of the books as you feel you would be able to put to use; we’re looking to get rid of them all by Friday, 8 February.

TUESDAY PRAYER GROUP

We can do nothing without prayer. All things can be done by importunate prayer. It surmounts or removes all obstacles, overcomes every resisting force and gains its ends in the face of invincible hindrances. ~ E.M. Bounds

Friends, let’s come together and pray for our school and our community!

Tuesday mornings at 7:15 am in the Tipunan Prayer Room.

See You There!

BREWS BROTHERS

See you there!

O to grace how great a debtor
  Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let that grace, Lord, like a fetter,
Bind my wand’ring heart to Thee.”

For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace …..John 1:16 (ESV)
