FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL’S OFFICE

Dear Faith Academy Community Member

The Lord has brought many answers regarding our staffing needs for the coming year. We are so thankful for that. However, please do keep praying as we still need two English teachers for High School and ELL support for all divisions. You can also be praying for the support raising that must happen in order to get the folks here who are willing to come. Our God is more than able!

We have just a couple of days left in this school year. As the final days are wrapping up, please remember to pray especially for the seniors as they graduate on Friday and prepare for the big transition, moving on from Faith Academy. Pray also for those families who are leaving our community, either for good or for a time of home assignment.

You are invited to join us for the End of the Year Ceremony on Friday at 10:45 in front of the school. We are doing something new this year with all of the graduates decked out in their robes and parading through the halls so the underclassmen can cheer them on. I always finish the year by reading the “Traveling Psalm” as it seems appropriate for our community.

Psalm 121

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—

where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the LORD,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip—

he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel

will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD watches over you—

the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day,

nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—

he will watch over your life;

8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going

both now and forevermore.

Serving together,

Tom Hardeman

FROM THE NURSE’S OFFICE

FOR PARENTS OF SENIORS:

You will receive a copy of your student’s immunization records in their grad packet along with their diploma. If you need a copy before that time, please contact the Health office at: [email protected]

FOR PARENTS OF MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS that wish to participate in Sports next year:

Changes from last year and key points highlighted in RED

For those of you with middle or high school students that are interested in trying out for high school sports next school year AND they have not yet participated in high school sports at Faith Academy

OR they had an athletic physical exam MORE than 2 years ago:

All students who want to try out for sports in high school are REQUIRED to have an athletic physical exam done every two years. Next year this will include ANY middle school student that participates in a high school sport (for example: Cross Country, Track & Field or any other sport by special invitation). We are offering an opportunity for your student to get this exam done ON CAMPUS before tryouts begin.  It will be on registration day – Wednesday, July 31, from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.  It will be held in the meeting hall – the room downstairs from the Tipunan courtyard.  There will be signs to help you find your way.

This exam is done by a team of professional and qualified nurses, doctors and physical therapists.  Some students that have gotten this physical exam done off campus have paid up to P 1,750.  We are able to offer it for just P 700.  Attached is a questionnaire that needs to be filled out BEFORE coming to the exam. You will need to help your student answer questions # 10, 11 & 12.  When they come for the exam on July 31, they will need to bring this form, filled out, as well as P 700.

This exam will count as the grade 6 and grade 9 required medical exam for registration. You do not need to have another medical exam done.

When your student signs up, they will be given a start time. They can come anytime during that half hour to START the process. It takes about an hour to finish the entire process.

Many of your students had this exam done two or more years ago – it is time to have it done again! If you don’t know when they last had it done, they can either stop by the Health Services to check our list, or you can ask for that information by email.

If you want your student to take advantage of the Athletic Physical offered on campus, please email the Health Services at [email protected] to sign them up before the end of May! The final deadline for signing up is July 17. Remember, this physical exam needs to be done BEFORE your student will be allowed to tryout for any sport this school year! Get your student signed up soon!!

If you know of any new families that may not be connected to their Faith email, please pass the word along.

In His Service,

Sandy

PAC CORNER

Dear Faith Community

My name is Sandra Hilario and I am delighted to be the new Chairperson of PAC. I count it a privilege to serve our wonderful school and am looking forward to seeing all that God has for us. I know we are at the end of the school year but I wanted to give you a heads up for all that is coming.

PAC has now changed its name to Side by Side! Our vision is just that, to come alongside our teachers, support staff and employees to show our love and care as they do a great job of loving on our kids, helping them to become Christlike, lifelong learners.

There will be various events throughout the school year to help build community as well as showing appreciation in many ways, big and small. One thing is for sure… We all need to be involved in whatever way we can!

One way we want to support new families coming to Faith is by providing a buddy family to help them out as they settle and orient themselves to school life and community. Is this something you could help with?

At the moment I need 6 ESD families, 14 MSD families, and 9 HSD families. We know this would be a tremendous support for the new folk coming in. I would love to have this in place by the end of June. Please feel free to email me with a great big yes!

Here is to a wonderful year!

Have a super summer!!

God bless

Sandra Hilario

“Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!”

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure  Psalm 147:5

Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2019!
