FA Community Bulletin – February 19, 2020

In This Issue:

Dear Faith Academy Community Member,

Thanks for your prayers last week with all of the activities taking place with our students.  The middle school had a wonderful experience at Rizal Re-creation with meaningful times of social interaction, worship, and scriptural input as well as outreach with local children from around the area.  The basketball tournament was a success as well with friendly competition and healthy interactions on and off the court.

We continue to monitor the developments of the novel coronavirus or COVID 19.  As mentioned recently by our head nurse, Sandy Varberg, we encourage families to be vigilant in monitoring students at home and keep them out of school if they have a fever, a cough or have trouble breathing. We have installed over 40 hand sanitizer units on campus to help keep our community healthy. Washing hands regularly with soap and water, or with the hand sanitizers is critical and strongly encouraged for everyone. Meanwhile, our confidence remains in the ongoing presence and protection of our Lord and Savior.

International Week is coming up in Elementary next week and on Friday, Feb 28 we will host our annual International Potluck event. May I encourage you to put it on your calendar and plan to join us!

Serving with you,

Tom Hardeman

Elementary will be celebrating International Week from February 24-28,  2020.

Our theme this year is “That ALL may open the Bible and move towards the LIGHT”

We will be focusing on the work of Bible translation and the difference it makes to have God’s Word in your own language.

As part of this celebration, we will be having a display of Bibles in different languages in the elementary library.  If you have a Bible translated in a language other than English, and would be willing to lend it to us, please drop it off in the ESD office or in the Library with your name attached to it. We will take good care of all Bibles and return them to you after the week is finished.  It would be great to have the Bibles by Friday, February 21.

Thanks for your help!

Join us for a special block screening of the movie, KAIBIGAN, on the following dates and times:

February 20 (Thursday) at 3 pm,

February 21 (Friday) at 5 pm

“And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on a Cross, my burdens gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.”

But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
