Head of School Update – November 9
  • The Administration is so grateful for your prayers and support.
  • The Administration looked at the parent survey results, and the majority of our families would send their children back to face-to-face classes, if possible.
  • They also identified distance learning as having a negative impact on the social, emotional, spiritual, and physical wellbeing of their children. The main concern with a face-to-face model was their children’s physical wellbeing.
  • There are some families that said that they would not send their children to school for face-to-face classes, and some of those who said they wouldn’t send their children to classes would allow their children to come to campus for some activities.
  • As a team, we desire to return to face-to-face classes second semester if we are permitted to by the government and if the students and families that are out of the country are able to return to the Philippines.
  • Since we don’t want to make an uninformed decision, we are waiting for more clarity from the local and national governments before we come to a final decision.

Head of School Updates – July 3
  • Because of the decisions made by the Philippines’ Department of Education, we have decided that we will follow a distance learning model for the first semester.
  • For many of the same reasons, we have also made the difficult decision to close our dorms while we are using a distance learning model.
  • We realize that the distance learning model does impact our program. In response to this change, we are offering a reduced distance learning tuition rate and fees. We are finalizing these numbers, and we will post the new rates on our website on Monday, July 6.

Head of School Update – July 10
  • There are challenges associated with distance learning, and we know that you may be exploring schooling options for the 2020-2021 school year.
  • We believe that Faith Academy is an excellent choice because we will continue to offer a Christian education, which is facilitated by dedicated teachers who care for our students’ academic, social, physical, and emotional needs.
  • The continuity of our program is one of our priorities, and we will be able to help our enrolled students transition well when we are able to offer face-to-face classes again.
  •  If government restrictions change during the semester, we may be able to offer some activities on campus to those students who are enrolled at Faith Academy.
  • Overall, we applied a 20% discount to all the different tuition categories.
  • If you are planning on withdrawing your child from Faith Academy, please email our registrar ([email protected])  and your child’s principal.

Head of School Update – July 18
  • Based on feedback and our research on effective distance learning programs, we have made the following decisions:
    • Instruction will be asynchronous (not live)
    • There will be regular synchronous interactions with teachers to check-in and answer questions. These check-ins will not only be for academic purposes, but will also address the social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of our students.
    • We will work out a way to distribute print materials to students for those in the Philippines. For those who aren’t in the country, we will share the electronic copies. These materials will make it possible for students to do work that is not on a screen.
    • ESD will use SeeSaw and Zoom.
    • MSD and HSD will use Sycamore, Google Classroom, and Google Meet.
    • We will hold parent and student training sessions before school starts and will continue to provide guidance throughout the semester.
  • In order to provide more details, we have scheduled two Zoom Town Hall meetings on July 28 at 10 am and 7 pm.
  • If you are planning on withdrawing your child from Faith Academy, please email our registrar ([email protected])  and your child’s principal.
