Gray Update July 2020

It’s time again for an update from us in Coventry…

News and Updates

Thank You

Thank you so much for your amazing support after our last update where we shared about Kerstin’s mother passing away from Covid-19. We have received such comforting and beautiful cards, flowers and messages. Kerstin’s family are all doing well considering. It is such a comfort to know that Margit is with Jesus where there is no suffering and one day we will see her again.

Kerstin’s Health

Chemotherapy finished in the beginning of June and the next phase has just started this week – radiotherapy. There will be 20 sessions all in all taking just over 4 weeks to complete. The main side effects are apparently tiredness and then local irritation to the skin and tissue (like bad sunburn, I’m told). It was good to have a few weeks in between treatments to begin to gain a little bit of strength.

Amy has enjoyed starting some driving lessons and is now on her summer holiday.

Love Nations

Have you ever considered how intercession can be an extraordinary way to love people? Seeing the needs of others, giving of your time and energy to see others blessed. And to think that we can love people in other parts of the world… It’s quite a thought!

On Friday, 10 July at 19:30-20:30 (BST), WEC is hosting an online prayer event for the nations. We will hear fresh news from the Middle East and from South East Asia to guide us in our prayers. Feel free to join us for the Love Nations prayer event and be inspired by what God is doing around the world. See you there!

Malcolm

Malcolm is feeling stronger by the day and is working full time (from home). The new routine these days includes a daily trip to the hospital for Kerstin’s radiotherapy appointments.

It means that he is, for the first time, beginning to understand the real scope of the director role of WEC UK and Ireland. There is a lot going on! At the moment, the leadership team are planning for an online annual conference in September, which presents some interesting challenges, poses some unique questions, but most interestingly, opens up some exciting new possibilities. One of the joys of lockdown – creative innovation!
