Korean Guidance Counselor
The High School Korean Guidance Counselor helps Korean students in the areas of academic achievement and career development especially for those who are planning to go to Korea but also to other countries after graduation. Furthermore, the Korean Guidance Counselor gives advice to take an active approach on a more strategic and long-term perspective, map out a self-initiated career path, and to prepare for the future. The counselor also helps Korean students in the area of personal/social development.
Essential Duties of the job
In cooperation with HS Guidance Counselor, the Korean Guidance Counselor will:
- Plan and conduct workshops, events, and activities to help with career and college planning.
- Offer guidance and counseling service for Korean students for further studies after graduation to help with college/university admissions procedures.
- Collect necessary information and resources related to making career choice and colleges/universities admission process.
- Provide information and resources systematically and effectively to Korean students and parents.
- Assist with any requests from HS Guidance Counselor and school regarding FA Korean students guidance and counseling
- Interact with Korean students on a personal level to discuss educational, social, and spiritual growth and conduct regular grade checks of struggling students.
Additional responsibilities
Job specifications
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Have recent and successful experience working with teenagers.
- Have experience or training in counseling.
