Science Teacher
The High School Science Teacher will provide quality, Christ-centered education for children, most of whom are children of missionaries. To create an environment conducive to learning and teach children basic academic, social, and developmental skills. Educational duties are based on grade level and subject matter/specialty.
Essential Duties of the job
- Prepare lessons according to curriculum guidelines
- Give instruction and supervise students
- Provide assessment of students according to the guidelines given
- Attend after school meetings and be available for extra-curricular activities as needed

INTEGRATED SCIENCE Year 1 Credit
This course is required in grade 9 unless another placement is approved.
Integrated Science is a comprehensive course that studies the interconnections between astronomy, atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and geosphere. Sustainability will also be discussed. Throughout our study we will focus on how energy is used and transferred, with an emphasis on hands-on applications of the scientific method.
CHEMISTRY Year 1 Credit
Prerequisite: completion of or concurrent registration in Algebra II
Chemistry examines the properties, structure, and composition of the types of materials, including the changes in composition which these materials undergo. Presentations are designed to enhance understanding of the makeup and changes within creation; to see why they behave as they do; and to develop problem solving skills. Lab work provides inquiry experiences with the concepts and materials being studied.
AP CHEMISTRY Year 1½ Credit
Students must take the accompanying AP Chemistry Lab
Prerequisite: A or B grade in Chemistry and Pre-Calculus and teacher recommendation
This is the equivalent of a first-year college chemistry course. Students will gain factual competence as well as a deeper understanding of chemical problems. Students will also develop an ability to think clearly and to express ideas with clarity and logic. Laboratory work is essential to the course and will require an additional class period. Students are expected to take the AP exam in May.
